Home Coming - October 28, 2009

Her Name is Thea --- Thea came to us after a tragic life in a puppy mill. The puppy mill was shut down in late September of 2009.

We received Thea on October 28th. Mary brought her in the early evening. We set her up in her crate in the family room while 4 of our perm dogs were in their crates. Our other 2 perm dogs were participating in a class in the back yard that evening.

Thea is fine in her crate. She seems to feel safe there and cowers in the back when we try to coax her out. Finally with a leash on her I am able to carry her outside. She is scared of absolutely everything including her shadow. Any sudden movement or noise makes her shutter and fall to the ground. She reacts to sounds we can't hear.

This evening I hand fed her dinner. She would not eat out of her bowl so I fed her dinner piece by piece. Later while our other kids were out for their last potty she again cowered close to the ground and did not want to eliminate. We put her to bed between Trik, our 7 month old BCX and Skah, the 4 year old "bulldozer. She whined a bit but then fell into a deep long sleep.
